Maybe it’s in my head, but I feel like I stand out in the yoga classes I’ve been too. I’m the one in the back with the tight hamstrings, trying to look as smooth and limber as the instructor and majority of the other participants. I can usually pick out the other runners as well. But as a runner, the benefits of yoga are many! They include:
- Injury Prevention: increased flexibility and core strength
- Improved overall balance, strength and range of motion
- Mental focus and concentration

Now that we have established how beneficial yoga is for runners, what do you wear? Running clothes can work at home, but shorts don’t quite cut it in a yoga studio.

I have gone through phases of tons of yoga (at least once a day) to no yoga. I find I feel much better both mentally and physically the more yoga I do. I just recently found a studio in my area that I am looking to check out, so hopefully I can get back into a regular routine again.

I only do yoga when there is a free session offered by Lululemon. I do love the pigeon and downward dog poses for stretching. BTW – L actually has demonstrated very good technique in doing her downward dog. Very nicely done!

As a runner, I’ve read so many articles on how yoga can benefit me. Unfortunately, I don’t dedicate enough time to it. I probably do it once a week, if that. But I really want to be better at doing it! Maybe some cute yoga clothes would motivate me

Yes! I do practice yoga. I try to go to a class at least once a week but would love to try to incorporate it more often.

I have only recently started yoga but I try and practice a couple of times a week.
I have taken a few yoga classes, but just don’t seem to fit in. LOL. I really need to make a better effort!

Are yoga pants comfortable? Of course they are. Do they make your ass look better? Duh … and women know this. Yes, we’re doing that for ourselves more than for men, but let’s not dumb this down and act like the thought never crosses our mind. It’s part of the reason we like wearing yoga pants, because they make us feel good.
However, are they pants? Nope, still not pants. Of course Lululemon promotes wearing them as part of your everyday wear; they’re trying to sell product. Wearing yoga pants as leggings (socially acceptable) is not the same as wearing them as pants (sorry, not socially acceptable).

I started doing yoga after my first son was born. It felt very good and refreshing after doing yoga. I always did yoga wearing yoga pants. Yoga pants are very comfortable and you i freely move your legs in any direction you want. So(JANI)this is the basic reason i wear yoga pants not to show myself.
