Here’s a little peak at a day in life lately.
Fall is gorgeous here right now! I got out first thing in the morning for a 7 mile run before my husband was out the door. I tried to ignore the day’s to-do list in my head and soak up the beauty around me and came back much more energized.
The minute I stepped inside, I was needed. My 5 yo presented me with fashion designs that she insisted I begin sewing before she got back from school (huh?) and the baby wanted to follow me into the shower.
I managed to get myself ready, changed the baby, finished packing L’s lunch and ate a Stonyfield Greek yogurt + raspberry smoothie and Nature’s Path granola.
After a quick hair brushing, scramble for shoes and jackets, the three of us headed out the door to walk L to school.
We had a little miscommunication about schedules and I had a nutrition client coming on a morning with no childcare. Thankfully, baby J is still a good morning napper. I cleared the house clutter, put her down at 9:30, prepped for my client and met with her for an hour.
The house was still quiet which gave me a chance to check in with my runners and their training plans before my stomach said it was time to eat!
Leftovers for lunch! I started with a fish and chickpea dish with asparagus, which filled me up yesterday. Today… not so much. My belly was asking for more carbs! I added a piece of Ezekial raisin toast with almond butter and the vitamins I forgot to take at breakfast.
Plus an apple and two coconut butter chocolate chip bites… and later kale chips with nutritional yeast.
Ahh, success. A happy belly.
Baby J and I played around the house and I threw her cloth diapers in the laundry, a chore we repeat every 3 days. I had a little more work to do before picking up big sis, so I did something I haven’t done yet… we went to the gym to use the childcare for an hour and I didn’t work out! I sat in the coffee shop instead.
Back at home, we attempted to squeeze the second nap in before pick up time. Fail. She played in her crib instead.
I packed up a snack for L and we left to pick her up – 70 degrees in November! I’m in denial that temps are about to change.
I switched around my meal plan and decided Thursday’s eggs would work well, as we were missing a few ingredients for sushi.
The evening was a whirlwind, as usual. Because baby J skipped her afternoon nap, she was unraveling and hanging on to my leg as I tried to clean up the kitchen. When my husband got home we switched duties- he took bedtime for the evening and I headed to Trader Joes to restock a few things.
I had a training call afterwards and opened this amazing dark chocolate almond bark and a little popcorn…
