What’s for Dinner? Menu Planning Link Up

Jill and I are excited to kick off the Menu Planning challenge and link up this weekend! This challenge came at the perfect time for me.  I was doing very little menu planning this summer and enjoyed the break, but also found that we started repeating a lot of meals and I was in a rut with my grocery list, buying the same vegetables week after week.

This week, I sat down with a new cookbook that I’m reviewing and chose all of our meals from there.  My husband offered to get groceries yesterday, and I already knew exactly what we would need for the week… plus, I wasn’t the one doing the shopping.  This challenge is off to a good start!

Everyone is welcome to join us! We’re simply writing out a menu for the week, posting about it and linking up here or at Jill’s blog (links will be visible on both sites).  Sign up on the original menu planning post.  You’re welcome to plan every meal, or start with dinner planning (like me).

Here’s my dinner plan for the week:

We mentioned in our initial post that as we kick off this challenge for October, we’ll have weekly prizes.  This week’s prize is from Nature Box.  Nature Box is a monthly service that sends packages of wholesome, all natural snacks to your door.    The winner will receive one box containing 4-6 yummy, high quality snacks.  You can enter the giveaway through Rafflecopter:

I can’t wait to see what the rest of you are eating this week!

  2. Yay! I’m excited about this challenge! The last few weeks have worked out well for me in terms of menu planning. The struggle I found this week for me was getting the list together. My week has been busy & tiring that I was falling asleep by the time I tried getting my list together. 🙂 but I got it done!

  3. I’m coming over on Thursday! I love gnocchi, sweet potatoes and pesto! My biggest challenge is always price. Say I plan out my menu beforehand like you do, often the items I need are more expensive than I would like. So I usually go to the store with kind of a loose idea of what I want, but with backup options just in case.
