Two Group Challenges for 2015: Eat Cleaner and Run Faster!

There’s something about the start of a new year.  A clean slate.  I get excited about it every year.

What kinds of intentions do you set for the new year? I always have a few health related and running related.  If you’re looking for group accountability, here are two opportunities to join me….

 January Reset Challenge (Registration is closed)

The 21 day whole foods challenge is back!

This time our focus will be on learning and practicing mindful eating.  We’ll clean up our diet with a whole foods challenge but there will be a little more wiggle room than a “detox”  – it’s not about perfection.  We’ll do our best to take care of the bodies we were given!

What do you get?

  • Healthy, yummy recipes and a sample meal plan for each week

  • Learn what your body feels best on, work on cravings, and feel lighter and more energized!

 5 by the 5th Challenge

5 by 5th Medals

I’m bringing this one back, too! If you’d rather focus on running that clean eats, this challenge is a fun way to work on speed and track your progress over several months.

The goal is to run a 5k or 5 mile run by the 5th of each month (from February through May.)  I’ll provide a spreadsheet for tracking.

This challenge is free- and there are running-related prizes each month pulled at random!

  3. I’ll be signing up for the January detox. I missed the last one so I’m ready for this one! I’m doing a mini detox between Thanksgiving and Christmas and it does feel so much better to be in control of my eating habits.

  4. Your challenges always seem to work well Laura, you are a great motivator 🙂 I have not set any goals yet, other than I want to enjoy London. I need to move away from my obsession with sub 2:40…..it is stressing me out, so I think I may have to move away from goals…..which is opposite to everyone else, but my goal is to have no goals hahhah!

  5. So glad to see this again! I’m in for both. My health goals for 2015 (which I’m already working on because really, why wait?) are to drop weight and pick up speed in my running. But more than that, I am aiming to keep my health goals a priority despite (and to manage well in) the swirl around me.

    My big goals next year are:
    Food- to eat more mindfully & control my binges better
    Fitness- more dedication/less skipped workouts, stay healthy and focus on half marathon speed.

    I am in for both of the challenges.

    A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance.
