I mentioned on Friday that I decided to switch my half to the Divas Half marathon this morning. Sandy Hook was officially cancelled. Boo… but I’m thankful to have a back up plan.
Saturday evening, my stomach still felt off and I have a slightly fuzzy head but fingers crossed that I feel good when I get out there! If not, at least I have a group to do a training run with.
We also found a great farmer’s market this weekend. The one in our town is on a weekday, and we haven’t made it there yet. But the next town over has a great market on Saturdays… glad we finally got ourselves there. We stocked up on local apples, beets and the last of the tomatoes. I found a natural meat farm with reasonable prices and bought a whole chicken for the week. I was probably most excited about the delicious kalamata olives and the spice stand I found. Hubs was excited about a pickle on a stick.
I tapered more than I planned to once the stomach bug hit. Here’s the week recap:
Sunday: 12 miles with the group, 8:25 pace
Monday: am 8 miles- 8:30, 7:40, 7:30, 7:30, 7:15, 7:09, 7:17, 7:40 (ave 7:34); pm- 2.5 easy stroller jog
Tuesday: 35 elliptical and circuit strength
Wednesday: 7.5 slow, hilly miles (started to feel icky) am, pm taught spin class (took it easy)
Thursday: tried for 6 but stopped at 4… felt sick 🙁
Friday: Unplanned rest day: sick
Saturday: Off- still not feeling great
Sunday: 13.1… hoping for closer to 18-20 total, if I’m feeling better!
On the menu this week…
Sunday: Preschool Potluck
Monday: Chicken in the crock pot for tacos(we use an all-natural taco seasoning like WildTree)
Tuesday: Broiled Tofu, roasted sweet potatoes, beets, and edamame
Wednesday: Butternut Squash and Chickpea Curry with quesadillas
Thursday: Leftover crock pot chicken in tortilla soup
Saturday: Out or this Peanut Butter Vegetarian Chili
