It’s been a low key few days over here as our whole house has been passing around sicknesses- sore throat for my husband and a mild stomach bug for me. I’m not sure which L has, but she’s coughing and sniffling, too.
Yesterday’s 6 miles turned into 4, as I realized I just was not feeling it. So I spent the rest of the day drinking tea and resting.
This morning I’m heading to a conference for the day. It was a last minute decision, but a fellow health coach offered me a free ticket to the NY Women’s Entrepreneur Summit. There’s an awesome line-up of speakers, and I’m excited to network and soak up the info. Thankfully, my husband is able to stay home with L today so I can go (the perks of a professor’s flexible schedule!)
I’m hoping my energy is back by Sunday, because I’m planning to switch to the Long Island half!
My goals keep changing for this race. I’d like to race it and aim for a pr, which I think is doable, but now that I’m not feeling well it’s harder to imagine running well. I also saw that this summer-like weather is sticking around for the weekend, so it will be near 70 degrees in the morning with a high of 80… ugh.
But for what it’s worth, here are my goals:
A Goal: Pr (sub-1:35)
B Goal: Solid tempo run (1:35-1:37)
C Goal: Training run
Even if it’s a flop, I get in a training run (C goal). I’m not going to stress too much about this race. I hope it’s a good marker of my current fitness level but if I’m not feeling great, I’ll just do what I can. At least I know the marathon cannot possibly be this warm in November!
Does it still feel like summer where you are? Is anyone else racing this weekend?
