The last few days, I’ve seen several creative ideas to encourage runners to give back and assist in Sandy recovery efforts. Yesterday, my friend Carlyn from Just Keep Sweating asked for help throwing together a virtual run for relief, and I got busy setting up some prizes.
To be honest, I’ve had every intention of giving, but didn’t actually follow through until I signed up for the run this morning. If (like me) you need a little extra push, combine your charity giving with a fun run and a chance to win a few prizes! The race “fee” will go directly to the Red Cross.
1) Run (or walk!!) anything from a 5k to a marathon, from now until the end of November
3) If you’d like to wear the race bib, download and print it
4) After you run, report your time here by December 1st
5) You can email firstname.lastname@example.org with your photos, or post them on twitter or instagram with the hashtag #racingforrelief (read all the details here)
Everyone who registers and donates will be entered in the drawing for prizes. Tweets and shares are an additional entry.
