One year ago, I sat down to start a running blog as a place to document my training and races, so as not to bore my family and friends on our personal family blog. It’s morphed and changed over the year, to include training tips, nutrition and recipes, a purposeful running series and now a menu planning link up.
Although it can be a time-suck at times, I really love blogging. And I had no idea the depth of relationships that can be built through blogging. Inow have friends all over the country (and the world!) that I could meet up with if I’m passing through. I’ve already gotten to meet many blogging friends at races and conferences like Fitbloggin. I hope I get a chance to meet many more of you in the next year.
Despite hitting the one year mark, I still feel like I’m trying to figure out what posts are most helpful or interesting, and what YOU like to read about. I know a few of you would be content if it were all running, all the time, and others of you only stop by for What I ate Wednesday.
So can I ask you for a minute of your time to give me a little feedback?
I’ve considered adding a weekly training log, or more nutrition research and things I’m learning at Integrative Nutrition, but I don’t want to bore you if that’s not your thing. And if there’s something you really don’t like, I’d love to know that, too!
If you’re happy with everything as it is, feel free to skip to the bottom and check “all of the above.”
If you took the time to answer, even if it was simply the “all of the above” button, thank you! I love feedback.
I don’t have a one-year-blogiversary giveaway as I’ve been spreading them out all month (Earth Yoga clothing, Reebok Shoes, etc) but yesterday’s giveaway for a case of PopChips is still open, so if you missed it, hop over there to enter. While you’re there, you can check out the lovely menu plans that are linked up from some inspiring bloggers!
Thanks, friends, for making this a meaningful year. I never could have guessed the opportunities that blogging has brought. Plus, I don’t think I would have signed up for Integrative Nutrition without the opportunity to meet and chat with others who have done it. I am excited to see what the next year will bring!
Here’s a little sneak peak for 2013: I’m working on a Virtual Race Series from January to June, where you run a 5k or 5 miler at the beginning of each month (for speed tracking or simply for fun). More details will be coming soon.
If you blog, how long have you been blogging? What has surprised you along the way? If you don’t, what kind of blog posts do you prefer?
