I saw this on Christine’s blog last week and had to play along! A blogging survey– all holiday inspired questions!
1 Holy Night or 8 Crazy Ones? (Do you Celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, both?)
We celebrate Christmas but it tends to be closer to the 8 crazy nights with our personal Christmas, a gathering with my side of the family, one with my husband’s family and often we attempt to catch each of our extended family get-togethers as well.
Peppermint or Chocolate?
I love both! I just bought Trader Joe’s Peppermint Hot Chocolate and I’ve never met a peppermint patty I didn’t like.
Sing us into the Holiday Season, what is your favorite Carol this time of year?
I love them all. I really love going to hear Handel’s Messiah every year, but I guess those aren’t carols. Other favorites are O Come Let Us Adore Him and O Holy Night.
Tell us about a Favorite Family or Personal Holiday Tradition.
I love hanging and filling stockings every year. As kids, we also slept “under the tree” on Christmas Eve on the living room floor. We haven’t tried this with our family yet… I value my sleep too much, I think!
C’mon you remember your favorite (Christmas, Hanukkah) gift, tell us all about it:
The only thing that stands out to me is that we used to always open new pajamas on Christmas Eve and it was fun to see what we got, change into our pj’s and get ready to camp out under the tree.
That magical moment? (Your favorite scene from a Holiday movie…it’s okay if you have 2)
One of my favorites is the ending to It’s a Wonderful Life, when all is made right in the world again.
Kissing under the mistletoe? Who do you hope is standing underneath (We know it’s normally your spouse, if it did not have to be, who would you choose?)
Swans a swimming, lords a leaping, golden rings; which gift of the 12 days of Christmas would you like most?
I have to agree with Christine and say I’d take the pear tree. Just the pear tree.
Play Secret Santa, what inappropriate gift would you love to give this year?
I don’t know about inappropriate, but my husband is good at boring white elephants like packs of batteries and motor oil.
Martha Stewart or the Grinch? What is your decorating style? (Pictures would be awesome!)
Somewhere in between. Definitely not Martha Stewart…we do what we can but with a 3yo, most holiday decorations get spread throughout the house, and a few are lost or broken. So I stick to the basics- lights, decorating the mantle, candles, etc.
What is ONE WORD that defines the holiday season for you? (Examples: Believe/Wonder/Bah Humbug?)
Family. I love how it brings everyone together, especially now that we’re all spread apart.
If Santa could assure its delivery, what’s the first thing on your holiday wish LIST?
I don’t think I even put this on my list before now, but I would love a spiralizer!
