Hope you’re all having a great weekend! It was a beautiful day here yesterday and we took a family trip to a nearby orchard for apple and peach picking. They also had pumpkins, a corn maze, hay bale maze, and hay rides but we ran out of time so we’ll be back again soon.
Training this week was… interesting. I started off a bit too zealous, after backing off for a week or two when I thought I was pregnant. But my body was giving my signs to back off a bit (more on this tomorrow). So I did.
The goal is to make it to the start of the Philly marathon healthy! I know that a few extra days of cross training isn’t going to drastically alter my fitness in the long term.
Sunday: 8 miles with one long, steep climb and descent
Monday: 30 minute elliptical and full body circuit (burpees, planks, mountain climb, shoulder press, squats, etc)
Tuesday: 9 miles total with 8 x 800 Yassos (7:23 overall ave)
Wednesday: 6 easy run + icing and foam rolling
Thursday: Skipped run- taught 1 hour spin
Saturday: Mock long run (45 elliptical, 1 hour spin, 25 minute run and 25 elliptical)
I’m heading out this morning for 8 miles with the group again. I feel good, and am hopeful that a few days of relative rest are what my body needed.
Sunday: Rotisserie chicken, green beans, and roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes
Monday: Black beans in the crock pot with brown rice
Tuesday: Enchiladas (Plus extra for the freezer!)
Wednesday: Spaghetti squash “pie”
Thursday: Baked Salmon with Sweet potato avocado salad
Friday: Leftovers or pizza
Saturday: Friends here for the weekend! (Grilling or out)
Do you like to go apple picking in the fall? What does it take for you to back off your training plan?
