It’s been a long week… my husband was at a conference for half of it, and then had a few long days at work. I’ve been spoiled to have him working from home 2-3 days a week, so being on my own for so many back to back days was rough. Thankfully, it’s Friday! I’ll keep it fun and light with a catch up coffee date.
Lately, I’ve been really into Kombucha- so that would probably be my drink of choice. How about you?
I’d love to hear what’s going on with you. But since this is an imaginary, one-sided conversation, here’s what’s new with me:
I’m soaking up these last few months as a mom of one. I really love the stage L’s in these days. She’s very agreeable and helpful (most of the time!) and has been so excited to help get ready for the new baby. I love her creativity lately. She likes making books (drawing the pictures and dictating the story to me), playing “school”, and singing or dancing around the house. She also just wrapped up gymnastics and is starting soccer. We’re in the experimental phase with activities- dabbling in a little bit of everything to see what she likes.
Still loving my work and surprised at how quickly I’ve been able to hit my goals. Next week I’m presenting a workshop on “Deconstructing Your Cravings” at a corporation in NYC for their wellness series. I’ve pushed myself to do a lot of workshops this year and found I really love them. I’m passionate about the material and come away so energized!
I set myself up at Whole Foods this week so I could focus on the presentation. I’m so much more distracted at home.
This week marks the start of the 3rd trimester… woohoo!! I’m getting so excited to meet this little one. My energy is still high, and I made a point to get to a pilates class this week to start focusing on my pelvic floor again. I forgot that I was doing this in my first pregnancy, but came across an article lately that reminded me how important it is.
The nursery is coming together, too. We found L a new “big girl” dresser with a mirror so we can put her old dresser in the baby’s room. Now it’s just down to the final little things, like a few more cloth diapers, a hamper, possibly a bookshelf for the nursery, extra washcloths, etc. Nothing we absolutely have to have before the baby comes, so that feels good.
L convinced me that we needed to bake this week on one of the rainy afternoons. She asked for “healthy chocolate chip cookies”- silly girl. I think she thinks if we make a healthier version it means she can have more of them and at any time of day she’d like one. :) But I humored her and we made these paleo cookies with almond flour, coconut oil and maple syrup. Dangerously good!
After completing IIN for health coaching, I went back for a six month Immersion program and just received my certification a few weeks ago. I’ve done most of my learning virtually, but the school is hosting a live conference in two weeks and invited our Immersion class to attend. I’m so excited! Now that we live close enough to pop in and out for the day, it was an easy decision. I can’t wait to meet some of my classmates and soak up all the energy and inspiration in person.
We have quite a few other trips coming up, too. Beach trips, family gatherings, babymoon… it’s going to be a busy spring. So that’s the update here. How about you?
