Happy Thanksgiving + Nature Box Giveaway

It’s almost Turkey day! The last few years, we haven’t been traveling for this holiday.  Since it’s so close to Christmas, we took a solid week or two at to see family then instead.  But this year, we’re celebrating my brother’s recent destination wedding with a reception Saturday evening, so we’re going!

We’re heading out after the Turkey Trot, and will have Thanksgiving with my family on Friday, my husband’s whole family on Saturday, and the reception dinner Saturday evening.  Lots of good food and socializing! We’ll hang around a few extra days and come home Tuesday.

We’re in clean-out-the-fridge mode this week.  I’m linking up with What I ate Wednesday, so here’s what I was eating yesterday:

[Oats with blueberries, banana, almonds and mila; Spinach with chickpea-sweet potato burger and hummus; Banana with some of L’s pb/carrot/apple spread; Popcorn; Cranberry Crunch ball and a bite of dark chocolate; Pre-spin apple and cheese; Post-spin Black Bean Sweet potato soup]

We have a stash of snacks packed for the trip.  Some of which include deliciousness from Nature Box.  They sent me a box to review, and we have already devoured the nuts, blueberry bites and trail mix.

I set aside the dried apricots and granola as snack options for our trip.

I’m relatively new to Nature Box, and was really impressed with their snacks and system.  Each month, they send out five healthy, delicious snacks to your door for a low monthly cost.  The snacks change every month, and are all nutritionist-approved.  You can learn more on the Nature Box website.

Nature Box has offered to send a box of snacks to one of you!

I know it’s Thanksgiving, so let’s keep this simple. Use the Rafflecopter to enter:

  1. I have been really curious about Nature Box. Worried that they will send items I can’t eat due to dietary restrictions.

No Turkey Trot for me. Resting for the day. I am only getting out of my PJ’s to go to the in-laws for a couple hours.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving, Laura! Your weekend sounds really fun and festive. We are having a low-key dinner out with friends, and our “Turkey Trot” will be Dan and me running easy together at the ponds while the kids ride their bikes.

  3. Laura – Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Have a great time at the Turkey Trot and safe travel. Let me know how that goes. I have a strong feeling that you will PR!
As for myself, I will be racing the Sugar Land Turkey Trot 5 miler! I think I like distance much more than 10k. I secretly hope that tomorrow will be cool and dry, but with a 8:30am start, I am just thankful to be able to enjoy the local race!

  4. It has been our Thanksgiving tradition to do our local Turkey Trot, and we have done it every year since we have lived here. In the past the kids have just done the kids dash and last year they did the 1 mile fun run, but now that they are older, this year they will be joining us in the full 5K. I am so excited to do it with them! Today we are making funky turkey hats to wear during the race.
    Happy Thanksgiving to you, Laura!

  7. Have a gr8 thanksgiving! Gonna try to do it a little healthier this year. Roasting potatoes & turnips. Less butter & steaming asparagus!

  8. I’ve always wanted to do a turkey trot. I have to find some running buddies, none of my friends like to run so I never want to go by myself. Hoping next year I can take my oldest son and he can be my buddy. We start Thanksgiving late, so plan on doing an at home cardio-strength workout in my home gym! Happy Thanksgiving!
