Fun for Friday Survey

I’m ending the week with this fun survey.  Feel free to play along. Thanks, Angela, for the tag!

Four names that people call me, other than my real name:

  • Kid- my husband’s nickname for me, not sure why
  • Lollipop – my grandparents chose for me as child
  • Mama – my favorite
  • Lar – not many ways to shorten “Laura” but this is one of them!

Four jobs I have had:

  • Waitress- loved it, seriously!
  • Teacher’s aide in a childcare facility during high school (not a fan)
  • Director of a small non-profit (amazing people, so rewarding)
  • Self employed health coach and running coach (love!)

Four movies I’ve watched more than once:

  • Fiddler on the Roof
  • The Sound of Music
  • Aladdin (childhood favorite- I think I still have it memorized)
  • Shawshank Redemption

I’ve probably repeated musicals the most but decided not to list four of the same genre!

Four books I’d recommend:

  • Uncle Tom’s Cabin – this really touched me as a kid/youth
  • Born to Run and/or Run Less, Run Faster
  • Three Cups of Tea
  • The 3 Season Diet – (Aryuveda made modern day)

Four places I have lived:

  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Ithaca, NY
  • Houston, TX
  • Lancaster, PA

Four places I have been:

  • Argentina
  • France
  • Dominican Republic
  • Jamaica

Four places I’d rather be right now:

  • Outside in the summertime
  • Running on a new trail
  • A southern state until winter is over
  • In bed, asleep… I’m still not caught up since the birth of baby J

Four things I don’t eat:

  • Turnips- the only veggie I can’t stomach
  • Anchovies- I know they’re good for you, I just can’t
  • Fresh coconut – way too much work… I’ll stick with the dried or the coconut butter or oil
  • Mike and Ikes- nastiest candy ever

Four of my favorite foods:

  • Soup – any and all kinds
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Almond Butter
  • Popcorn with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and nutritional yeast

Four TV shows that I watch:

  • Parenthood
  • Modern Family
  • Downton Abbey
  • That’s honestly about it these days

Four things I am looking forward to this year:

  • Watching baby J grow and change daily
  • Boston Marathon !!
  • Planning a family vacation
  • Getting to the point when I’m no longer the baby’s sole source of food

Four things I’m always saying:

  • Actually… (I only know this because I hear it in my 4yo!)
  • You know what? (speaking to my kids)
  • That is not okay (again- to my 4yo)
  • Thank you! (to my husband… for taking the kids!)

Four People I Tag:

And you! Favorite movie, book or place you’d rather be?

What’s something you’re always saying?

  1. I love musicals too! I must have watched Sound of Music a million times (although not lately). I also watched The Princess Bride and Gone With the Wind a lot! By the way, silly fact, but two of those three were TWO video tapes…do you remember having to switch the tape in the middle of the movie!? That makes me feel old…

  2. Great list – my movie list would be full if musicals too. 🙂 I’ve lost track of how often I’ve seen Singin’ in the Rain in this lifetime!

  3. Being somewhere on a beach sounds great right now, especially since it’s so cold today!! I love that your grandparents call you Lollipop. That’s so sweet! And the phrases that you say all the time – those are definitely ones that are repeated a lot over here especially “That’s not OK!”

  4. I’ve been enjoying reading all of these ‘mustache’ posts going around. Thanks for the tag!

My favorite movie of all time is Charade with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. That reminds me that I haven’t watched it in awhile and I’m overdue!

I recently caught up with my Parenthood episodes and I’m loving that show right now. I wish it wasn’t the last season!

  5. I’ve found this survey to be so interesting, especially seeing where people live! I say this is not okay a lot as well. 😉

  6. I always think these surveys are so neat! My mom made us watch The Sound of Music a lot when I was little so I’ve seen it waaay more than once!
