Ooh, I’m really looking forward to this weekend! My sister-in-law arrives tonight, and we’ll get to spend some time catching up with her. Then on Sunday we’ll fly out to visit family in the northeast.
Here are a few things I’m loving this week…
A run in the rain Wednesday night. It was hard to get out the door, but it felt amazing!
Check out those bright colors! I’m excited to get familiar with the new Saucony Virratas and will write a review soon.
This has been on my nightstand lately. I’m almost done with it, although I plan to read it a few more times over the next year. I can already feel a difference in my running. Chi Running emphasizes letting your core lead you, and running as relaxed as possible.
Two great posts for knee injuries:
When I dealt with knee pain 5 years ago, these are the same moves that helped me get rid of it and keep it at bay. Check them out:
- Lindsay’s husband wrote a great post with the best strength exercisers for runners.
- Christine also wrote a really helpful post with 5 exercises to strengthen your knees.
Kids Table and Chairs Giveaway
And for the mamas out there, I’m linking up with 9 other bloggers to host a giveaway for a kids table and chairs from Baby Gifts and Baskets. They are giving away a personalized white round kids table and two chairs to help encourage winter indoor activities for kids.
We love our kids table and use it many times a day- for snacks, coloring, art projects and more. L loves having her own special place to sit that fits her, and it’s perfect when we host friends with kids her age for dinner.
This table is valued at $120, and the contest runs through March 3, 2013. Use the rafflecopter below to enter:
Have you read Chi Running? Do you have any fun weekend plans?

I think both posts have excellent exercises for running issues and not just the knees – talk about some great hip exercises (which I need to do more of). I wish it was warm enough for shorts again. We’re back into the 30′s.

I love those shoes! Such lovely colors. I wish I had been sent those. Can’t wait to hear what you think about them. I have NOT read or implemented Chi Running but am interested in that book. My core has always been my weakest link when it comes to fitness. Thanks for sharing those two links!
Runs in the rain can sometimes be the best! But only if it starts raining AFTER I’ve started the run. Going out into the rain is never enticing to me.
I read ChiRunning, have the DVD and took a class on it! It’s very interesting. I had to take the technique advice with a grain of salt though . . . . but there’s definitely some good advice within their suggestions. Happy Friday!

I’ve learned a lot about Chi running through Chad. He’s a big fan and might I add in all the years he has been running he has never had a running injury that a few days of no running didn’t cure. Coincidence?

I’m intrigued by Chi Running – I heard about it awhile ago. But there are so many opinions on how best to do it all. I’m glad you liked this one. When you say let your core lead, does that mean having a strong core, or activating you core when you run?
