Exciting News + 5 by the 5th Winners and Link Up

Can you believe we’re half way through this challenge?

Three months down, three months to go.  I hope you’re seeing some improvement as you go along.  I have a few posts in the works with more specific tips for improving your time in the 5k. If improved speed is a goal for you, keep an eye out for that in a few weeks.

With the half marathon last Sunday, I didn’t get a solo 5k run in this month.  Instead, I’m counting the fastest 3.1 miles of my half for my time (the last 3 miles) at about 22:03.

I loved hearing some of your successes this month.  Elle surprised herself with a 5k pr this month, and Karri also hit a new best 5k time, and Lauren used the last 3 of her new half marathon pr for her 5k this month.

Okay, ready for the March winners? I’m excited about the prizes this month- two Rumble Rollers, an Endorphin bracelet and a sampler pack of Larabar Uber bars.

(Winners are chosen using random.org… if there is no March result entered for the number chosen, I continue to the next name).

First Rumble Roller winner…………………  Tori G.

Second Rumble Roller winner……………………….. Kafi LJ

Endorphin bracelet of choice…………………………. Jenn H. (@thehislopclan)

Larabar Uber bars……………………………………… Dawn M.

Congrats to all the winners! Send me an email with your address to claim your prize.

A quick note on the Rumble Roller- I’ve been using it since this fall, and it has made a huge difference, especially through marathon training.  For more tips on using a foam roller, check out these links:

Finally, some exciting news…

It’s official! I got my RRCA certificate in the mail and I’ve started accepting local and online coaching clients.  I added a coaching tab to describe both my Running  and Holistic Health coaching programs, so feel free to check it out and spread the word if you know of anyone interested in either.  Thanks, friends!

  1. Many many congrats on getting your certifications wrapped up and getting your career moving! I’m looking forward to seeing how you progress. I go this month to my RRCA certification course as well and so excited! I’m going to have to tap you for help on getting going. I’d really like to gain local clients here in my region 🙂 Again – many many congrats!

  2. Congrats on the certification, Laura! You’re going to be great at coaching. But darn, I wanted one of those Rumble Rollers. A gym I go to has one and it’s great (I have a regular one)–might just have to buy it.

  3. 1st and foremost, congrats on the coaching! You are going to be amazing at it, you live a healthy active and inspiring lifestyle with your family and your blog and now more people can be helped by you too!

I have heard wonderful things about the rumble rollers, I keep meaning to look into them so I can try it! One of these days I guess I will have to break down and buy one!

  5. Ooh I love my rumble roller! Hurts so good but does a better job than the regular foam type. Congrats on getting your RRCA certification. I got mine last April but only just started taking on clients as I (thought I) was too busy with my kids running program. I must say I love coaching adults as much as I do kids (I was worried I wouldn’t) and really enjoy spending time developing training plans and chatting with my clients. Good luck to you in your new venture!

  6. Yay! Huge congratulations to you!
I wish I would have joined in on the 5ht by the 5th this month. I’ve been wanting to get back into running and this would have been the perfect motivation!

  7. Hi Laura,
When will we get the info about the medals? I’m all about the medals, LOL!

  8. I just want to purchase one medal unless you are talking about the different distances. I didn’t realize there were different distances until the second month. 🙂 I’m doing the 5K distance. I’m such a creature of habit I can’t change now!

  9. It’s so fun of you to do this, and you are right, I can’t believe we are already three in the bag! Great job to all who won as well as everyone who PRed for this race! I ran mine slower, but I plan to rebound in April! Great job on the certification! Good luck to you with your coaching!

  10. Congrats to everyone that did so well for the third month! I missed my run this month due to a nasty stomach virus hitting at the wrong time, but I’ll be back next month.

    Congrats on the certified coaching!
