First of all, some exciting weekend news- I’m an aunt again! My sister had her first baby Saturday night (L’s first cousin on my side of the family). He’s precious… I can’t wait to meet him and am so thrilled that our babies will be so close in age!
Since the babymoon, I can’t break the habit of napping. It was such a relaxing break from everything… we (mostly) unplugged, took lots of walks, read on the beach, watched the sunset, ate some delicious crab and shrimp, grilled veggies and steaks and napped. Did I mention naps? Lots of napping. We may or may not have gotten ice cream every day, too. It was heavenly. 🙂
And as of Friday, I hit 31 weeks! Woohoo!
Here are a few more pictures from our babymoon, and the stats of week 31 of pregnancy:
How far along: 31 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: up 14-15 lbs
Maternity clothes: Switching over to flowy skirts, dresses and tank tops.
Sleep: Hit or miss. About every other night I get a solid night’s sleep, and then the next night I’ll wake up several times and have trouble falling back to sleep. I’m also getting in a short cat nap almost every day!
Miss anything: Sleeping on my belly. Having a normal appetite where all foods taste good. Runs that feel easy!
Movement: I love watching my belly move from the outside now. He/she is especially busy after dinner and right before bed.
Food cravings: Same as last time- fresh fruit and citrus. I’m also loving baked potatoes!
Anything making you queasy or sick: For some reason, the last week or two have been trickier- hummus, salsa, crackers and “dry” foods like popcorn do not appeal to me. Anything I cook is much less appetizing by the time I sit down to eat it. I did much better on vacation when I did zero cooking!
Have you started to show yet: There is no denying it now!!
Gender: I’m surprisingly loving the suspense of a surprise.
Happy or moody most of the time: I’ve been happy the last few weeks! Getting really excited to meet this little one.
Looking forward to: Finishing up the nursery. One more babymoon “staycation” to catch a show and play tourist in NYC.
A little belly comparison, just for fun:
My only concern right now is that the baby is transverse (side to side instead of head down- I can feel the butt and the head on either side of my belly!) The baby still has time to move, but I’m starting to think about it more these days. Please cooperate, little one!
Did you take a babymoon? Or if you plan to someday, where would you go?
Any tips for a transverse baby?
