About

Hi! I’m Laura, mom of two young girls (born in 2010 and 2014).  I love good food, running, natural health, and motivating others!

“Mommy, run fast!” is one of my daughter’s favorite phrases from the seat of the stroller. This blog is a compilation of my training, healthy living and running tips, and a tidbits from our family’s life.

I’m Laura- a mom, Holistic Health Coach, social worker (MSW), spin instructor, and RRCA certified Running Coach.  I received my health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. I can help you create a personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

I’ve always been interested in nutrition, and became a vegetarian in college for health reasons.  However, I soon discovered that despite it being a healthy choice for many individuals (and for the environment) my body eventually gave me signs that it was not the best choice for me.

As I did more research, I became to understand and apprecitate the concept of bio-individuality.  What works for one person will not necessarily work for the next. And I gradually learned how to listen to my body and determine what to eat to have more energy, eliminate the bloating and mental fogginess, and feel good!

I love helping women determine the best diet for them through a variety of personal factors.

Some of my specific health interests include: battling the sweet tooth and understanding our cravings, eating for energy, making the connection between lifestyle stress and our health, improved sleep, and the best foods for athletes, particularly runners.

I am also a certified running coach and can help develop a running and fitness plan to meet your goals, whether you would like to run your first 5k or shave time off a marathon. You can find out more about my running coach services here.

Are you curious about how health coaching can help you? Let’s talk. Schedule a free initial consultation with me today.

  1. I enjoyed reading your blog, and I am interested in a potential partnership. nSphere is developing a local search tool that I believe would be a good fit for your site. It would allow your visitors to connect to a rich source of relevant data while remaining on your site.

Do you have time to talk sometime this afternoon between 3 and 6 PM EST? Or, if you prefer, we have a Webex seminar on Tuesday at 5:00 PM EST.

    Thanks,

    Thom
