21 weeks pregnant workout recap + meal plan link up

Hello from PA!

This is the weekend of celebrations…. my sister’s baby shower yesterday (she’s due in May) and my husband’s birthday today! Two of my favorite people.Ā  šŸ™‚ My sister lives in NC, so we’ve been sharing our pregnancy journeys together across the miles, but it was so nice to spend some time together face to face.Ā  How cute is she?

My workouts this week were about average.Ā  It helps that the weather is warmer and I can get outside more.Ā  I also squeezed in a ten mile training run and have an 11-12 miler this week before I taper for the Garden Spot half in April.Ā  I know I can cover the distance, but I want to be able to do so comfortably and know I’m at least somewhat prepared!

Sunday:Ā  Warm up on the elliptical and another prenatal workout from Jess

Monday: 6 mile progression run (first mile 9:30, last mile 8:20)

Tuesday: Jillian’s NMTZ + 30 minute walk

Wednesday: easy 45 minutes elliptical

Thursday: off

Friday: 10 mile run (just 3 weeks until the Garden Spot Half!)

Saturday: Off- baby shower and family time

Menu planning is pretty easy this week as we’ll be traveling again next weekend! We’re heading up to Ithaca, NY to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the non-profit where I was the director for 5 years.Ā  I really loved my job and still have some great friends working there. I can’t wait to catch up with everyone, and see some other dear friends and show L the house where she was born! šŸ™‚

Sunday: Traveling, unsure

Monday: Veggie Omelets with Ezekial bread

Tuesday: Sloppy Joes (craving these for some reason!)

Wednesday:Ā  North Indian Chicken Thigh Curry

Thursday:Ā  Leftovers

Friday: Heading to Ithaca, NY! Dinner at a work celebration

Saturday: Meeting up with some old NY friends and going back to one of our favorite restaurants

Do you live near your siblings?

Do you have a place you like to visit that holds special memories?

  1. I wish I lived near my sister, but she is back in England, so there is a rather large ocean between us. She comes to visit every few years, and I go back around once a year, wish it was more though. You guys are adorable.

I have many places that are close to my heart, mostly through the accomplishments I have found through going to Nationals in college, the moments where all the hard work paid off as I stood on the podium. I love going back to those places and feeling the sense of pride I felt that day šŸ™‚

  2. Fun to be pregnant the same time as your sis, I had overlapping pregnancies with both of my sisters and sister in law. We had 8 kids in 5 years between the 4 of us. My sister and brother live about 6 miles away both and my little sister lives across the country in Virginia šŸ™ although I did get her here for almost a year last year. She needs to move home I miss her so much!

    You are looking great!

  3. How fun! I always have wanted a sister. Having brothers is great but they really don’t get the girly things!

I wish I lived closer to my brothers but they aren’t moving here and we aren’t moving to the west coast anytime soon. Thankful for technology to keep us in touch!

  4. Glad you got to see your sister! And she is adorable. My sister moved up to the east coast about 2 1/2 and it’s painful that she’s so far away. She is going to move back but not until after my youngest finishes Navy IT School (not sure the official name) so she can spend time with him before he starts shipping out.

The chicken thigh curry looks amazing. Yum! Great workout week too. I started to ask what NMTZ is but realized it as I was typing the question. šŸ™‚

  5. Up until last May I lived pretty close to my brother and sister. And then we had to leave the Bay Area (California) for Denver, CO. But being in the middle of the country means we are only 2-3 hours away by plane from all our family members, both my side of the family, and my husband’s side of the family! That photo of you and your sister is darling.

  6. Awww you and your sister are so cute! One of my sisters live in San Francisco…all the way across the US from me! But she is moving here next month!!! Yay! My other sister is about 4 hours away. When I was pregnant with my first child my sister was pregnant too. We only lived about an hour apart then so it was fun sharing being pregnant together! And..since she was further along than me she gave me her maternity clothes when she grew out of them! šŸ™‚

Being in Ithaca, I’m dying to know… what’s the favorite restaurant?

  8. you guys are ADORABLE. my sister, sister-in-law have staggered pregnancies (the closest are 6mos apart — which is crazy bc all of our kids are 2 years or less apart!!) and we can’t figure out if it’s better to have them close or stagger (so we can help each other!)
i think both is awesome, such a blessing!

  9. What a super fun weekend! Love the picture of you and your sister showing your super cute baby bumps!!!
My sister is currently pregnant with her 2nd and her youngest is 5 – no overlapping of babies for us since my youngest will be 13 in 2 weeks.

  13. We’re in RI and all my siblings are in CT, so we’re close enough that we see each other frequently, which is so important to me. The boys have three cousins very close in age to them, and it’s so great to see them all together – they love spending time together!
