2 year blogiversary and a Shoe Giveaway

Hey friends!

Happy Monday… and for my U.S. friends, the beginning of a very short week!

In addition to Thanksgiving this week, I’m also celebrating my blog’s two year blogiversary.  I started this blog as an alternative place to share my race recaps, since no one reading my personal family blog really cared.  :)

But obviously it’s turned into much more than that…

I met amazing people (friends!) online and in meet ups.

I’ve shared recipes, health tips, and my experience studying at Integrative Nutrition.

I became a health coach and running coach and started my own business.

I don’t know if I would have gone after some of those career dreams of mine if I hadn’t started blogging and realizing these are the things I really love learning more about and helping others with.

So, to celebrate two years, I’m giving away a special pair of shoes…

Airia One’s construction is inspired by the wheel, to ensure runners achieve that perfect feeling of flow. The shoe has a unique design featuring an irregular and sharply angled sole and upward-pointing toe. It harnesses untapped power in the human body and doesn’t leak energy like other running shoes do.

Tests show that runners wearing Airia shave times by 1 percent on average, and some of them up to 7 percent. The shoe is light and features a biomechanically optimized geometry with an unstable and irregular, sharply angled sole to help you move forward as fast as possible. The angles and functions of the shoe have been analyzed and constructed to maximize responsiveness for every microsecond in every step.

Airia One has an asymmetric design which combines a zero drop with a 6 mm drop sole. This allows you to run with less ground contact time and helps to keep the power in the stride more in line with the running direction.

Airia One was developed strictly for running and should therefore not be used as a walking shoe. The sole is produced by Vibram, world leader in high performance rubber soles.

Airia will be available for pre-order in November 2013 at www.airiarunning.com and will be listed at US$ 190.00 OR you can support the crowd funding effort and get a pair for $129.

Would you like a pair?

I’m also linking up with Katie for MIMM!

What shoe are you currently running in? Blogging friends, how long have you been blogging?

  1. Laura, Congrats to you on your blogiversary! My husband and I have only been blogging about 6 months. Total Noobs but I have met some awesome people both virtually and through meet ups. It’s great to have a place to talk about the things you love with people who get it.

I wear Saucony Ride 5’s but in need of new ones pronto!

  6. I wear Nike Airs. Which are super comfortable and supportive but pretty heavy so I would love something lighter. I will be doing my first triathlon this summer. First race ever really!

  7. Happy anniversary! I’ve loved reading your blog for the past year or so since I discovered it. I’d live to win a pair of sneakers as I gat back to running post baby :)

  8. I currently run in (and LOVE) Saucony Cortana 3’s….also just bought a pair of Hoka One One Stinson Tarmac (recommended b/c of knee problems), and getting a pair of Saucony Virrata’s for Christmas (I hope). A girl can never have enough running shoes :)

  9. Happy Blogiversary!
I’ve been addicted to my Brooks GTS for a few years now, but I’m always willing to try something new! #runhappy :)

  10. Congratulations on 2 years!! I currently run in Mizuno’s but enjoy trying innovative new brands. I really enjoy reading your blog!

  11. Currently not running due to a stress fracture which may have been caused by my low drop Merrels. Need to find new shoes for when I’m race ready.

  12. I have desperately been trying to find a pair of running shoes that actually works for me. Nothing has been a solid winner so far, so I am always looking to try new shoes!

  13. Woohoo, congrats!! I would have imagined you had been blogging for much longer than 2 years. Your blog is one of the first ones I fell in love with (about 6 months ago). I just started my own blog about a week ago, and I’m already loving it! I feel so much more motivated and excited to get out and run, and I’m already realizing how supportive the blogging community is. So glad I jumped in!
I’ve been an Asics lady since my high school XC days, and I’ve never felt the need to make a switch. But those shoes in your giveaway are pretty snazzy!

Congrats again! Here’s to many more years!

  14. Congratulations on your 2 years of blogging! That takes dedication! I am currently in need of some new shoes i am running in Saucony’s and i love them but they have over 700 km on the 😀
Thanks and have a great week!

  15. These shoes appear to harness the natural foot-fall/rebound of running. Definitely not made for walking. I would love to give a pair a test run. Or maybe 125 test runs.

  16. Congratulations on two years blogging! I just started and can’t imagine how much work you’ve dedicated in two years.

Right now I’m not running in anything. I don’t have a pair of quality running shoes that fit correctly, the last thing I want to do is injure myself because my sneakers aren’t supportive enough.

  17. i switch back and forth between saucony kinvara and altra intuition! i love them both…usually wear saucony for shorter/speed workouts and altra for longer runs/races

  18. I have been reading your blog for a year! Congratulations on your two year mark.

I run in Asics 2170’s. Not a huge fan of the new GT2000-2 so I got some older ones from running warehouse.

And I blog two times a year at best – so you’re killing me there.

Hope to see a race recap soon! Can’t wait for you to be 110%.

  19. I’m currently running in New Balance. They’re okay, except that I ran in them for a half-marathon last April and they are ready to be replaced for my next half-marathon in January. I’m not 100% sold that they are the “perfect” shoe for me.

  20. Currently in a pair of Newton Energy, the intro shoe for Newtons. Love them, but I’m always looking for the next best thing!

    Happy Blogiversary!

  21. COngrats on 2 years! I run in Brooks Cascadia, because I mostly run on trails. But I’m doing more on roads lately, so I need something for the roads to keep me comfortable!

  22. I just discovered your blog looking for RunGirl race recaps and I’m enthralled. You are one fast momma! I run in Newtons and Adidas boost and would love to add these to the rotation. Thanks for sharing all your awesome experiences :)

  23. Wow – 2 years! Happy Blogoversary :) I currently love mizuno wave inspires, but would love to try these out. Thanks especially for your 5 or 10 mile races this fall – I’ve really enjoyed them, and they’ve kept me inspired!

  24. Congrats, Laura, on two years. You have been inspiring to this much older runner with much more modest running goals. I’ve been wearing Brooks adrenaline for years.

  25. I’m currently running in New Balance. I’m ready to replace them though and open to recommendations since these last pair of NB have not stood up as well as previous pairs. I used to blog but it’s been about 5 years…oops.
